Digital Hollywood University is a private university located in central Tokyo, Japan. We offer a 4-year bachelor’s degree in Digital Communications and 2-year master’s degree in Digital Content Management. The content of this field of study includes digital expression basics such as film, 3DCG, game, programming, web design and animation. Students will learn about various aspects of Japanese pop culture and the latest digital technologies.
Digital Hollywood faculty are professionals in their respective field. Our faculty include but not limited to notable movie producers, animators and graphic designers. Here students have plenty of opportunities to work closely with our faculty members. Through these opportunities, students will deepen their understanding in their chosen area of study. Our aim is to nurture human resources with both specialized knowledge in their chosen field and international perspectives. With 30% of the student body coming from abroad, Digital Hollywood University offers a diverse and exciting global environment in which to study.

Bachelor’s degree in Digital Communications
The Bachelor’s program in Digital Communications at Digital Hollywood University put emphasis on three main domains of learning below
Specialized Education - Students will acquire knowledge and skills from the basics by learning across multiple digital representations.
Liberal Arts - Students will acquire cultural accomplishment that enable students to generate new ideas and find creative solutions to problems.
Global Education - Students will gain global perspective and increase their global awareness through different classes and programs offered.
Master’s degree in Digital Content Management
The Master’s program in Digital Content Management (DCM) at Digital Hollywood University provides an education in innovation in digital content industries with a focus on the integration of the following fields.
- Business
- Creativity
- Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
Application Eligibility
The applicant for Admission 2017 must satisfy all of the following three requirements.
- 1) The applicant must satisfy one of the five conditions below:
- a) The applicant has graduated or will graduate from senior high school by March 2017.
- b) The applicant has completed a 12-year curriculum in an educational system(s), or is scheduled to complete such a curriculum by March 2017.
- c) The applicant has completed a curriculum of courses at a school outside Japan which has been authorized by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as equivalent to a Japanese senior high school curriculum, or is scheduled to complete such a curriculum by March 2017.
- d) The applicant is designated by the Minister of MEXT.
- e) The applicant is recognized as having academic ability equivalent or higher than senior high school, and will reach the age of 18 years by April 2017.
- 2) The applicant must be eligible to obtain or renew the residence status of study abroad under the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act after being admitted into Digital Hollywood University.
- 3) The applicant has passed level N2 of Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) or obtained 200 points or higher in the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU) for Japanese, or have equivalent competence.
About Scholarship
Digital Hollywood University offers the following scholarship and tuition exemption program for privately-funded international students:
Digital Hollywood Scholarship
Successful candidates will receive 50,000 JPY per month
Tuition Exemption
Type I : 30% tuition exemption
Type II : 15% tuition exemption
- Besides the above-mentioned scholarship, students will also be able to apply to other scholarships offered by various institutions.

Fees mentioned above are tuition fee before the 15% ~ 30% exemption. The tuition exemption rate will be based on the entrance examination result on the first year. From the second year, it will be based on academic performance and attendance rate.
